The photos below show a crane installing the structural element for a current

sculpture commission in Cambridge. The circular grid will hold 221 lacquered

boxes to form a pixelated sun. The sculpture will double as a home for swifts

with nesting sites in the front of the sun so it will look like they are flying in and

out of the sun.

Latest sculpture in conjunction with the Royal Opera House and set around an

historic pond. The piece has a sculptural approach but an architectural outcome.

It will be used as a hide and reveal a world that disappears just before

someone turns the corner.

I'm also part of the collective Something & Son comprising of a sociologist,

engineer and myself. Along with a team of volunteers we've been putting the final

finishes to our project FARM:shop in Dalston, London. The project is a farm in a

shop and we're looking to see how much food we can grow. Visit our website for

I am currently designing a piece of sculpture /architecture that will provide an

adaptable learning space and is commissioned by the Royal Opera House and

St Johns School. The sculptecture is situated next to an ancient pond and is

designed for nature as well as people with holes drilled throughout the whole

structure providing a habitat for invertebrates.

Below is a series of images of the completed architectural pod for story telling.

The main part of the sculpture was made from second-hand bookshelves (quite

hard to find decent ones...). The roof, made from shelves, had inflatable balls

attached to it which could catch rainwater that fed, via plastic tubing, hanging

plants inside the pod.

I was short-listed for a series of sculptures commissioned by The Lowry in Manchester. The sculptures design is a hybrid of all the cranes that have worked on the docks throughout history. Hanging from the crane is a crate of pipes adapted to be a home for sand martins.

Scene is a recently completed sculpture in collaboration with a horticulturalist.

The sculpture, based on a Chinese landscape, is made up of 7000 pieces of

timber to form a geometric repetitive pattern. Set within the structure are

various types of flora including dwarf cherry blossom and ferns.

Master + Maker is an architectural installation that is currently

under construction. When complete it will be situated in the grounds of the

National Trust's Loseley House.

The pavilion is made almost entirely from old bookcases and inside will have

hanging plants feed by rainwater caught on the roof then fed down through

pipes into the suspended flora. The public can either listen to stories sitting

inside the pavilion or standing outside and hear the words filter through the

open bookcases.

FARM:shop is a project that is currently in production.

Commissioned by Hackney Council Something & Son LLP,

a group I co-found in 2008, will be taking over an average

London shop. We will be filling the space with vegetables

and animals and using the latest technology alongside

the oldest techniques.

I've just finished the main part of The Aviary with its

twisting copper around the trunk of a tree. All that is

left to do is put up the bird boxes that have been designed

for Starlings and Sparrows as they are on the decline!

A project that I am currently constructing. The sculpture is made from copper

piping made into interconnecting webs. The random copper shapes will form

geometric branches once attached to the trunk of a tree.

The copper piping will patina over time turning a beautiful greeny blue. I've

spend this process up by plastering it with a salt and vinegar mix.

When fully constructed bird boxes will be hung from the tree.

I was commissioned for four sculptures to run along the river Thames in

Richmond, London. The sculptures are four metre high replica dockland cranes

with industrial hanging baskets and bird feeds hanging from them.

Geometric Fungus Sculpture

This sculpture is part of a communal roof garden in Shoreditch, London.

The wooden cube is stuffed with fungus spores and produces edible mushrooms

on a regular basis. Oyster Mushrooms are particularly enjoying themselves.

New drawing for the Barbicans Radical Nature Exhibition.

The drawing was a reaction to the new developments in Dalston, London

and was part of the Dalston Mill with Parisian based architects EXYZT.

A Bugs Hotel: a new sculpture for Blossom House School in Wimbledon.

The sculpture consists of a rotting log hanging from an architectural structure.

The log is a private hotel for the local bug community to stay in.
